Papii, a one year old cafe just off George street didn’t disappointed me .

Moving to Edinburgh mid November, I was told by the “people in the know” who knew my taste, that I should go there for lunch. From the moment I walked in , and been welcomed by the owners themselves, I felt I had found my place. I even said , “wow , this is so Me”, I love it in here.

The hospitality of the couple who run it is second to none. They make you feel like you are the most important customer at this moment. After finding me a table, and talking through the menu, as well as creating my favourite creamy coffee just the way I like , I knew this would be the place I recommend to others. The artisan coffee is one of the best I’ve had since leaving Leeds.

Beautiful interior . Stylised like a Greek seaside little cafe, with a modern twist of Edinburgh contemporary living, and attention to details from the service to the food presentation , makes this place one worth visiting again and again.

A link to their Facebook Page is http://www.facebook.com/pages/Papii/138945066161195

Would you agree that there is something mysterious about having things with your initials, or even full name on it? Back in the olden days only the rich and famous had their things initialled – from their slippers and housegowns trough to their LV travelling luggage sets.

Nowadays companies are trying to encourage us to get back to that rather special treat, and offer this to all of us regardless of status. I’ve already fallen for it with my very own LV customised bag, and now even my pro make-up palettes have been custom made for me. I can honestly say that it feels pretty special!

The company that does custom-made palettes is called GLAZEL (www.glazel.pl). I’ve mentioned the company a few times already in my previous make-up articles as I love some of their products. The new eyeshadows are highly pigmented in amazing colours and textures. Their lipsticks hold for long hours and their blushers give you that magic glow that gets you all those comments like “Wow, you look so well! – What is your secret?”

As you know, this season is all about being brave with colour and metallic eyeshadows; so use your imagination, trawl through some magazines for inspirations, and have a go! One day you may want to create your own palette with colours that you love, and maybe even have your name inscribed on it!

Styling Atelier recently had a chance to work on re-styling an upcoming young pop star – Josh Taylor. Our brief was to transform his image to that more in keeping with the direction his future career should take. After re-styling days with our stylist we then had a full day photoshoot at our studio, and later a video shoot for his new pop video directed by 360 Artist Development Ltd.

It was wonderful to be a part of this transformation and we wish Josh every luck in his future career.

They offer honest Mediterranean/Lebanese food, of exceptional quality at a reasonable price, sourced locally (from other independent suppliers where possible). Their name “mint” derives from the main herb used in many Lebanese salads. They are passionate about what they do; from the coffee to the food, the interior to the magazines, the 5 languages they speak, collectively, to the community they are part of in Headingley. They hope you enjoy visiting them . . .

Kate’s make-up looked flawless today, and by looking at the reports so far, it was done by herself. She took great care of her skin in the weeks leading up to the Wedding Day, so her skin looked very healthy and needed little coverage. To get a glow and youthful-looking skin, you can apply a highlighter primer onto your skin before applying foundation. I like Skin Tone Perfector ‘Spotlight’ by Estee Lauder.

Kate matched her foundation to her skin tone very well, and from what I can see from the pictures, used it only where needed, so her face looked natural and not like a mask. She did a great job by using a bronzer just under her cheekbones to accentuate her bone structure, and using a pop of colour on the apple of her cheeks. I think she used a highlighter on the bridge of her nose, Cupid’s Bow, and just above the cheekbone to get that beautiful glow.

Her smokey eyes done in a warm grey colour, paired with black eye-liner on her lower and upper lash line, were finished off with a few coats of mascara on her lashes. She beautifully opened up her eyes by using a lighter shade in the inner corner of her eyes, and also using an ivory or white eye pencil on the inner rim of her eye. Those two tricks really help to make eyes look bigger. Her eyebrows today were done in a much stronger way than usually. She also used some matt highlighter just under the eyebrow, which is also a great way of lifting the eyebrow, creating the appearance of bigger eyes. You can use a brow-lifting pencil ‘Highbrow’ by Benefit, or ivory matt eyeshadow, in order to achieve a similar effect. Her nude lips with a hint of colour matching her cheeks, were a perfect complement to her stronger smokey eyes today.

I’ve heard about this place from many artists and creatives I’ve worked with in the past, and everybody kept saying that I will love it. So, I went there today to have a coffee with my friend .The place is magical, maybe because it reminds me places I used to go to in Warsaw (Poland). Big windows, wooden floors, original decor, and great Jazz music in the background. You will not spot any wags or wannabees there, but great crowd of interesting individuals including famous artists like Corinne Bailey Rae. I haven’t had any food in there but no doubt I will get back there for more than just a coffee next time. I would love to find more places like this in Leeds so I am on the mission!

This is the most prestigious competition in the hairdressing industry. The standard of work is just unbelievable, every year even to go through to the regionals is a massive achievement for everybody. This year all 3 models who enetered the competition with Salon Fifty50 in York went through to the regionals, including Young Colourist, who’s work was recognised amongst more than a thousand other young colourists from across the UK, who entered the competition by submitting photographs of their work to be judged by the best people in the industry. I can only say that I can’t feel more fulfilled as a fashion stylist and make up artist to have my work recognised not only by the Salon Fifty50 who hired me for a second year in a row, but also by the biggest and toughest judges of this major competition.

Oh, not a long time ago visiting Edinburgh, I came across an uber stylish Tea room where I had the best chocolate & coconut flavour pot of tea ever! As you all know I love great interiors so to have such a tasty cup of tea, which was actually served in bone china, and be surrounded by wonderful furniture and decor - I felt like I wanted to stay there forever. I ended up buying 2 tins of different teas after spending like 30 min smelling the aroma of all the flavours available in the shop.

The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate about the products they sell. You can even buy your own “one off” china tea pot or cake stand as well as all accessories you need to brew your tea at home. After visiting on that first occasion, I returned every day for the rest of my stay – so therapeutic!

The tea room is in a great location too, close to the centre of the city:
